  1. I've spent the day testing various methods to get an SVG stroke animation to reveal an image but i've come up with nothing. I've used GSAP to animate SVG's as masks, but i've never attempted to do a stroke animation to act as a mask. I've done this millions of times in After Effects, but just can't seem to wrap my head around this - if its even possible. In this basic pen i've placed a random image below an SVG stroke animation. Anyone know if this is even possible?
  2. Hey there, this is my first time using GSAP. I'd like to play my animation backwards on hover. The only thing I can't figure out jet is how i can make the animation do that in 1 second. Any ideas? If this is not possible it would be also nice if the animation just jumps back to its origin position on hover. In addition to that: Is it possible to start the animation again on mouseout? Best regards Max
  3. HI everyone! I am being active here! I made a simple game using GSAP I know it is possible but it is really hard to code a game using GSAP alone.. can you guys which part of gsap I am going to use if I want to make an awesome game using GSAP! Pen Link: http://codepen.io/Waren_Gonzaga/pen/dMpjMy Thanks heroes!
  4. I'm trying to test out a scroll hijacking method I saw on http://www.adidas.com/us/climazone. On that page, they have a fixed position container with everything in it absolutely positioned and on page scroll they translate3d the elements up -Y scroll position which I can do but they key ingredient they add is easing to that scroll tracking. So as you scroll the elements follow "recreating the scroll effect" but upon release slowly ease into their final place which is the end Y scroll position. I've found this StackOverflow question, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25056769/how-to-add-easing-to-parallax-movement, where it talks about javascript easing mixed with parallax, however, I can't seem to figure out how to apply it to what I'm doing or what I want my end result to be. I also found this JSFiddle where it adds easing based on mouse movement that I thought might be helpful to use pieces from for easing, http://jsfiddle.net/74mnpgs7/4/. I've added a link to my current CodePen example with my starting point, any help achieving/deconstructing what Adidas Climazone is doing to add easing to their scrollY transforms would be eternally grateful! Another demo I did on JSFiddle is here: https://jsfiddle.net/416ne38h/5/ Bonus if I can use GSAP for this!
  5. Hello, Starting to fiddle with Tweenmax, im trying to get a simple animation working on my website. My animation is working properly on codepen, but not on my wordpress website (using svg support plugin). There are no errors in the console. but nothing happens on the website, im left with a still image of my svg. I think it has something to do with the fact that the javascript files are loaded by the parent page in which the svg is embedded (inline). I can't figure out a solution for this problem. Can anyone help ? Thanks an example of the banner on the page can be found here. Thanks
  6. I'm forked pen from jonathan https://codepen.io/jonathan/pen/NqZPwd So I'm need to create image animation on hover and on mouseleave reset image to default state. Now animation works well on hover and stopped on mouseleave, but image doesn't reset to default. So, how I can achieve that? Ideally, I need the same image hover effect like in this site https://www.juliebonnemoy.com/ (project's images after clients list) Thanks
  7. Hi, Aphalina Animator is a visual authoring tool that produces human-readable gsap + svg code. I just launched version 1.2 with some new features: path motion, hand-drawing imitation, clip masks, sprite sheets, sequence animations (similar to GSAP staging). It is paid app but can be used for free for non-commercial projects. Project link is aphalina.com. Any feedback is highly appreciated!
  8. Hi all, I would like to know how to get this result, or do I have to look in the documentation to make animations like this developer ? http://eric-huguenin.com/ tanks you verry much :)
  9. Dear GreenSockers, I have been making button animation for mobile navigation. Looks everything nice, but sometimes when you don't wait until animation end and you press button again, animation breaks and in the end I have this (see image). What I am doing wrong here?
  10. I want to animate the splitting of a product image when the user scrolls to the section. i.e. When a user scrolls down and enters the product image section, I want to trigger the animation of revealing the different layers/composition of the product. Like it is done here (scroll down to the second section after landing page): https://simbasleep.com/ Any suggestions?

    Parallax on scroll

Can someone please tell me how this site accomplished this type of parallax effect? Seems so easy but I find zero tutorials on it. It's a mystery! https://art4globalgoals.com/en/exhibition
  12. I started GSAP since few days but stuck at a problem. The animation is jarring and has glitches in full mode in Codepen. But not working fine in normal mode in all browsers except Safari. If you guys can help please help? Codepen link: https://codepen.io/satyamdev/full/OZYzMj/
  13. Hi, I was looking for animation on scrolling and i came across this So I played with it a little. I used scrollmagic to pin the layout during the duratoin of the box animation. So now i want to create similar animation timelines, with few changes. How do i put an individual timeline into a function and call it on scroll. Ive tried this syntax, but it doesnt seem to work : jQuery('.Screen').each(function () { var currentScreen = this; new ScrollMagic.Scene({ triggerElement: currentScreen, duration: 2000, offset: iScreenSize_H }) .on('start', function () { console.log(this.triggerElement().id); }).addTo(controller); }); Thank you .
  14. I am animating svg elements onto the screen with a simple opacity tween, however the elements look like they jump left 1px at the end of the tween, is there some properties I need to set to allow the SVG elements to tween on smoothly and without this weird jump? thanks in advance

  16. Hi, First post here so sorry if I'm asking something that has been answered, but I did a search and didn't find what I needed. Here's my project and what I'd like to do: Create a large infographic with lots of groups in Illustrator. Export the large infographic as ONE large SVG. Copy the inline SVG code and paste it into the body of an HTML page. Animate the individual elements of the ONE large SVG. I've attached a JPG of an example infographic. It contains ten sections. I'd like to be able to access individual SVG elements (e.g. <rect>, <g>, etc.) in each section and animate them using Greensock. Also, I attached a Codepen with a much simpler SVG with only two sections. I have tried to simply move the white rectangle in the top section but have been unable to. I set the id of the white rectangle to "logo." I'm just using the simple code from the first Jump Start tutorial. I'd like to be able to animate each of these elements on hover, clicking, etc. For example, in the codepen, I'd like to be able to rotate the wheel by clicking the "click me" button. Thanks.
  17. On Chrome and Opera after animating (opening) div (door) lines around that div appears. Tried adding translateZ(0), but then even worse - lines appears after page loads, you don't even need to animate.. On Mozilla and Edge seems fine. Can GSAP fix this issue? I tried adding something like this on hover event: TweenMax.to(".door", 2,{rotationY:13, transformPerspective:300, transformStyle:"preserve-3d",repeat:1, yoyo:true}}); but doesnt work at all.. Thanks, Mantvydas
  18. I've created an animated landing page for my portfolio using GSAP and ScrollMagic.js, but it's pretty resource intensive and I know my code isn't the most efficient. How can I modify the code to create a smoother and more robust animation? And how can my JavaScript be condensed and more efficiently written to avoid repetition? function pageScroll(e) { var clicked = e.currentTarget.id; if (clicked == "navWelcome") { TweenMax.to($('#mainNav'), 0.4, {x:windowWidth}); TweenMax.to(window, 0.8, {scrollTo:{y:"header"}, delay:0.3}); }else if (clicked == "arrow") { TweenMax.to(window, 3.5, {scrollTo:{y:"#aboutMeFull"}}); }else if (clicked == "navAbout") { TweenMax.to($('#mainNav'), 0.4, {x:windowWidth}); TweenMax.to(window, 0.8, {scrollTo:{y:"#aboutMeFull"}, delay:0.3}); }else if (clicked == "navServices") { TweenMax.to($('#mainNav'), 0.4, {x:windowWidth}); TweenMax.to(window, 0.8, {scrollTo:{y:"#servicesConBg"}, delay:0.4}); }else if (clicked == "navPortfolio") { TweenMax.to($('#mainNav'), 0.4, {x:windowWidth}); TweenMax.to(window, 0.8, {scrollTo:{y:"#portfolio"}, delay:0.3}); }else if (clicked == "portfolioBut") { TweenMax.to(window, 0.8, {scrollTo:{y:"#portfolio"}}); }else if (clicked == "navContact") { TweenMax.to($('#mainNav'), 0.4, {x:windowWidth}); TweenMax.to(window, 0.8, {scrollTo:{y:"#contact"}, delay:0.3}); } } for (var i=0; i<navBut.length; i++) { navBut[i].addEventListener('click', pageScroll, false); } for (var i=0; i<navItem.length; i++) { navItem[i].addEventListener('click', pageScroll, false); } document.querySelector('#arrow').addEventListener('click', pageScroll, false); //Landing Page $(function() { var xTo = 1.15*window.innerWidth; var yTo = 0.5*window.innerHeight; var rocketTween = new TimelineMax().add([ TweenMax.from("#parallaxContainer #bg", 1, {backgroundPosition:"0 100%", ease: Linear.easeNone}), TweenMax.from("#parallaxContainer #starsSmall", 1, {backgroundPosition:"0 12%", ease: Linear.easeNone}), TweenMax.from("#parallaxContainer #starsLarge", 1, {backgroundPosition:"0 6%", ease: Linear.easeNone}), TweenMax.to("#parallaxContainer #rocket", 1, {y:0, ease: Linear.easeNone}), TweenMax.to("#parallaxContainer #cloudsFront", 1, {y:0, ease: Linear.easeNone}), TweenMax.to("#parallaxContainer #cloudsBack", 1, {y:0, ease: Linear.easeNone}), TweenMax.to("#parallaxContainer #comet", 0.5, {x:-xTo, y:yTo, delay:0.5, ease: Linear.easeNone}), TweenMax.to("#parallaxContainer #logo", 0.8, {opacity:0, ease: Linear.easeNone}), TweenMax.to("#parallaxContainer #arrow", 0.07, {opacity:0}) ]);
  19. Hey guys, I'm having some weird stacking order issues in Firefox and Safari, maybe someone can put me in the right direction towards fixing it. I have 2 cards to flip, that are inline-block, side by side and have the corners overlapped (on purpose). While they are rotating, one card gets behind the other one for a brief moment until it gets the correct order. This happens in Firefox. Chrome is fine. Also, I can see a different issue in Safari that appeared recently, where rotation is not even visible. This did work a couple months ago and still works in my production code, but not on Codepen now. The stacking issue in Firefox is what really matters to me right now. I tried setting z-indexes, but that didn't help, so I understand it's rendering issue? How can I go around it? Thank you!
  20. I'm laying out ideas on how to approach an animation that will happen in multiple places across an entire site. While I know I could use DrawSVG...the way I developed these circles for each section was specifically for ease of control of the various sizes across sections, viewports, etc...so I opted for a circle created with straight CSS rather than SVG. Can you do a similar draw effect with the circles on CSS properties, without having to use SVG and DrawSVG?
  21. I try to copy this website to study and I found that my fonts are not smoothly. I would like to gain your suggestion how to make website like this. Thank you, Kopkap. http://www.carlsberg.com/170/
  22. Hello professionals, I need Your help changing this animation for better performance. When I use this infinite animation on my website, I lose 20/30 fps from 60 fps. Can I change this CSS animation to GSAP animation? Would it be better performance? And if it would be, how I can make same skew infinite loop with GSAP? I tried to make it with GSAP but I can only make animation from left to right, how to make this skew motion? Thanks, Mantvydas
  23. Hi guys, I'm new to React and using GSAP with it. I'm trying to do something really simple. I'm calling an animation on componentDidMount() and now I would like for this animation to leave as well. Now, I though I could do it using componentDidUnmount(), but that is not working. Can anyone help animating something out? Code: componentDidMount(){ this.loadOverlay = TweenLite.to(this.loaderOverlay, 1, { width: "110%", zIndex: "900", ease: Expo.easeInOut, delay: 2.1 }); } componentWillUnmount(){ this.loadOverlay = TweenLite.to(this.loaderOverlay, 1, { width: "0", right: "0", left: "initial", ease: Expo.easeInOut, delay: 4 }); } Thanks!
  24. Hi GSAP community, Let me start out by saying that I'm very new to React, but I'm looking to do a smooth animation on page load using GSAP. I've done several animations before using GSAP, but when it comes to React, animation just seem really complex. Right now, all I'm looking to do, is having my loading screen, slide of to the right using Expo.easeInOut after a couple of seconds, revealing the page beneath it. But all documentation about animating in React seems extremely complex, compared to what usually takes 2-3 lines of code to do. Can anyone of you help? Thanks!
