Preloading a Starling project

Has anyone used Loadermax to preload a starling project? I have used Loadermax in the past, but seem to be stumped on how to get it working for a starling project. Does anyone have any suggestions or some sample code they could should me. I am using Flash Pro 6, if that makes a difference.

I have zero experience with Starling. From my limited understanding Starling does not use the typical DisplayObjects like Sprite and MovieClip.


ImageLoader's place the loaded bitmaps into a ContentDisplay Object which doesn't have any place in the Starling world. After loading an image with ImageLoader you can grab the raw Bitmap via the ImageLoader's rawContent property



I'm pretty sure once you get your hands on the bitmap you can pass it off to Starling.
