Error Publishing Agencies Files

Recommended Posts

I received finished FLA banners from an agency that used Greensock to create some simple animations. Reading the Greensock instructions, it looked like all I needed to do was install the .com folder in the same folder as the FLA files, (yes I checked the file import location). But when I publish them I get are all kinds of "syntax" and "member attribute used incorrectly" errors. Is there something else I need to do to in Adobe Flash Pro CS5 to view and publish files? Note the agency can publish correctly. I'm a hack so please keep your answers simple, thanks.

First few errors

C:\...\g_\com\greensock\core\TweenCore.as, Line 7 Syntax error.

C:\...\g_\com\greensock\core\TweenCore.as, Line 17 Attribute used outside class.

C:\...\g_\com\greensock\core\TweenCore.as, Line 19 A member attribute was used incorrectly.

C:\...\g_\com\greensock\core\TweenCore.as, Line 17 Attribute used outside class.

Lots more.

Maybe you're using the wrong version of the tweening engine, like the AS2 flavor instead of AS3? Very difficult to troubleshoot without seeing your files but that's my best guess. Make sure you download the latest version of the files and use the correct flavor (AS2/AS3). If you're still having trouble, please post a sample set of files that demonstrate the issue so that we can publish on our end and see what's going on. No need to post your production files - just something very simple (you can create a separate FLA that only has one silly animation if you want - as long as it reproduces the errors, that's what we need).

So downloading as2 is different than as3? It's not obvious from the download page.

Maybe you're getting the files from somewhere else, but on this web site you must click on the "Download AS2" or "Download AS3" button (I'm not sure how I could make it more clear). They're completely different buttons.
